Facebook and Messenger are used by 93% of UK online adults, reaching 45.9 million users.

Reach increased from 91% in 2024 and 92% in 2023. Facebook reach grew 6% year-on-year in absolute numbers.

Despite years of predictions about Facebook decline, the platform continues growing in the UK. It remains one of the most widely used online services in the country.

How Many People Use Facebook Daily in the UK? (2025)

Facebook and Messenger daily reach is 69% of UK online adults, representing 34 million people.

The Facebook app specifically has 63% daily reach, up from 57% in 2024. Facebook app overall reach rose to 85%, up from 82% in 2024 and 81% in 2023.

Daily engagement is growing faster than monthly reach. Facebook is becoming more habitual for existing users.

How Much Time Do UK Adults Spend on Facebook? (2025)

Facebook and Messenger average time spent is 42 minutes per day. That increased from 39 minutes in 2024 and 28 minutes in 2023.

Facebook iOS app time specifically increased from 15 minutes per day in 2023 to 32 minutes in 2024 to 39 minutes in 2025.

Time spent grew 50% over two years. Users are not just maintaining Facebook habits, they are deepening engagement.

Which Age Groups Spend Most Time on Facebook? (2025)

Facebook users aged 35 to 54 spend 50 minutes per day on the platform. Users aged 55 and over spend 45 minutes.

By contrast, 18 to 34 year olds spend only 31 minutes per day on Facebook.

Older users drive Facebook engagement. The platform has become core infrastructure for people over 35 while remaining less central to younger adults.

Who Uses Facebook in the UK? (2025)

60% of Facebook time spent comes from women. The platform skews female in engagement intensity.

Facebook and Messenger is slightly weighted toward users aged 35 and over. It has the highest proportion of 55 plus users among top 10 platforms.
